Check out this TT+ Mortarion. Just finished by the beautiful folks here at the FLG paint studio.
We started Paint streaming!
That's right boys and girls. We have started streaming live paint tutorials on Twitch. This week we started and finished some Death Guard drones. In about 3 hours we went from a primed model to what you see now. Super easy, looks good, and really fun. Watch every Monday and Wednesday at 4pm Pacific.
Hello!
Hey guys and gals. We have been super busy here at the FLG paint studio. A lot of models are shooting in and out of here these days. We also are a little behind on post because of getting ready for the BAO! It was a blast. If you have not attended before, it is a real treat. Anyway... Just a couple pics of random models that have shot through in the last week or so.
Finished Sneaky Tau
As promised. Here is the completed project for the Sneaky Tau. That is a lot of little vehicles!
A few small projects this week
Hey everyone. This week we paused some larger projects to bust out a few smaller jobs that have been in the queue. These are just a taste of the projects from the week. A good mix over all.
Table top plus Guilliman with both head options
We started on a good lookin Sisters force on custom bases
Table Top Plus Iron Hands
Table Top Plus Voldus
Another TT+ Guilliman with Table Top Standard Terminators
Table Top Ultramarine vehicles.
Sneaky Tau
Hey guys and gals! Just wanted to give a quick studio update. We are working on another Tau commission. This is to add to a previous army done earlier this year. Adding some stealth units as well as piranhas, and tetras. Pics of those later in the week. The Ghost Keel has all options magnetized.
Mr. Sneak himself
Magnets... How do they work?!
Some stealth fun. Really loving this army so far
Necron Characters
Just figured we would show you a couple close ups of the Necrons. This commission was a blast, and the client has a huge army to play whatever build he wants!
Necron project update video.
Knee deep in Necrons!
Hello ladies and germs. Here we are again with another large group project. We are talkin Necrons. A ton of Necrons! I believe it is every model from the codex. This is the silver, red, and white scheme from the Necron codex. For reference check out pages 53-55 of the book. We have four members of the studio busting out this monster. More updates as we go. Just a few pics to get this sucker going.
Another army with Agrellan Earth technical paint! Looks very cool with Dryad Bark painted before the technical stuff.
A bunch of creepy crawlers
Larry and his massive chin are just cruisin on the warriors
Pete and Carlos are trading sculpting tools every other model. The plastic sculpy tool from Citadel is amazing for the texture bases.

FLG Paint Studio Update
Storm Lords Finished!!!
Here we are ladies and nerds! Storm Lords Demi Company. Quite the army! Finished it off this afternoon. Just figured we would give a peak before studio pics are taken. What a fun project this was. Each step made every model come together as a whole. Some models have that ugly look until they pop at the end, but not this bad boy. From start to finish she was quite the site! I think I will name this army Miss Lady. It's pretty to look at, but watch out, packs a mean punch! Let us at the studio know what you think, and stay tuned for some great studio pics by Mariana the wizard of the digital frontier.
Working on some Kharadron Overlords!
Wow, these models are fantastic! We've got some here to show off to all of you in the community, and I have to say: they're beautiful models. I think this will be a very popular faction. What do you all think of them so far?
Studio Update (Storm Lords)
Hey guys! Last week we finished that big Death Guard force, and man is it cool! Check out the Gallery for pics. Today we are working on the Storm Lords battle company. About 60 marines, 9 rhino sized tanks, and a couple attack bikes. Needles to say it is quite the army. The challenge here is that Storm Lords are three different colors. All of which are the most difficult to paint. White, Red, and Yellow. Will keep you updated during the process.
Feel free to ask us any hobby questions you may have. If there is interest we would love to post tutorials on your requests.
Easy Chaos bases
Today at the studio we wanted to show some quick tips on creating cool chaos themed bases. These bases can make any army go from ehh, to Dang! in just a few easy steps. This tutorial is on a 32mm base.
Cut a random hole in the base. We used a Dremel, but you can use any sort of cutting tool. Be careful not to cut yourself during this step.
Trace the hole on to a piece of thin plastic card. (You can use the clear plastic from clam packs) Then cut around your marks with scissors. You want the card to be larger than the hole.
For this step you need to super glue the card to the bottom of the base.
Here is a top view. We also glued between the card and lip of base to make a water tight seal. This way if you choose, you could use water effects later in the process.
Now add cork to the base. I prefer to tear apart the cork not leaving any flat areas. This way once it is painted it looks like rock and not a slab of cork. Another major part of this step is Super Glue. Coat the entire cork rock in super glue. This will harden and make the cork durable, and will not fall apart during games or transport.
A good cheap source for cork is Ikea. I like using cork that is about a half inch thick. That way you can model high or low.
Here we added some chaos spikes and a chopped up space marine helmet.
Using super glue we added model sand to the flat parts of the base.
Here it is. A little bit of paint and you are ready. If you wish at this point you could poor realistic water into the cut out area. This creates a nasty slick effect to the base. This base was painted using GW paints from greys, browns, and bright greens. I painted the space marine head to look like a fallen blood angel. If you would like to know how we painted this up let us know. The studio is happy to help the hobby community in any way we can.
